My friends thought that, I am defending Tamil cinema. But i am also opposing some trash films including rajini film, not openly, but I realize many times. But I stand by words that entertainment is basically on minds of people. For that who don’t say that all minds here are bad.
Friends here there is lot of middle and low class people. Why the people recognize anyone to hit ten others at a time without getting even a scratch because the people who are not able to do so to their opponent due to the society construction, they enjoy in the silver screen, they imagine them as a hero who hit the opponents as a same kind of character in the real. That’s why the commercial films are recognizing here .not only here but also all over the world. You guys told lot of actors and films to me during these college days. A common man not only in TamilNadu even all over the world knows Sylvester Stallone ,Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jackie Chan, jet Li, Bruce lee, Van Damm Christian Bale, Orlando Bloom Daniel Craig Brad Pitt,Tom cruise, Johnny deep will smith, pierce brosnan.I am not comparing these actors to Tamil actors, even in Hollywood commercial and fantasy hero get more and more fame than the true acting stars. These shows people where same everywhere, there superheroes and graphics help to entertain, hero normal person itself do all these stuffs. Who ask there is a tale in that kind of movies, what tale? Finding mummies in Egypt, fought with countries which don’t like by western people and made victory by a hero (attacking Russians), fought with aliens etc…these are the things are unusual. There people going to enjoy the cinema apart from their surroundings am saying only that kind of film is coming in Hollywood, lot of good films that taken from life. But what is for cinema? To entertain, to make money from that. But I also who follow these way they hold the top spot in the list of fans. Awards are giving for good actors. But these kinds of actors here and there don’t need that award. They get it from fans and collections. Ask any one of cinema industry itself, that which actor, director make more business. They are more respectable than valuable award.
The cinema is medium which the people can see the successful face of their real life.so people don’t want to enjoy the cinema as to test their intelligence, because in real life itself they know what is wrong and what is right using their intelligence.
Films are cultural artifacts created by specific cultures, which reflect those cultures, and, in turn, affect them. Film is considered to be an important art form, a source of popular entertainment and a powerful method for educating citizens. I accept Tamil cinema didn’t educate the people. But I am not claim that such films are not yet released. It’s wrong. There is lot of films. Not now it’s true.
Then one more critic’s social issues are not shown in the Tamil cinema. I accepted. Because here people of different diversity is living among the society.peoples are more sensitive than western countries. If you take the social issue as a cinema, one of group is getting offended.There government will support for that cinema, here not. Then peoples in the western countries also oppose some films like Da Vince code. Whatever it may be finally I accepted that Tamil cinema has long way to go to deal all the issues.
Then how you can question the taste of people who like to be the successful person for at least 2 to 3 hours in theatres. For this reason who claims that all peoples here don’t have minds. Let it be.
